Caravan of Colours, mixed media on paperUnder a sun like a ripe apricot, a camel waits in tassels and jewel-toned wool. The mountains keep their silence, the carpet lies unrolled: every long journey begins with a pause.
First Kiss, oil on canvas, after BouguereauFeathered wings meet butterfly wings in a sky of soft cloud. He leans in, she closes her eyes, and the whole world becomes one small, shy breath. A study of how love looks when it is brand new.
Candlelight in Burgundy, oil on canvasShe turns her back to the room and her face to the dark, a glass of wine resting in her hand. Candles glow like small secrets. Tonight the evening belongs entirely to her.
Crimson Hush, soft pastelShe gathers a sweep of red silk in both hands and turns from the light, her dark hair falling like a curtain across her face. Amber and wine burn in the air around her: a dance paused at its most private moment, still warm with movement.
The Space Between Thoughts, oil on canvasShe sits at the edge of the bed, gaze lowered, caught somewhere between staying and leaving. A streak of red in her hair, a hush in the air, and a quiet that says everything.
Ember Waltz, oil on canvasTwo dancers turn inside a flame of silk and sunset. Where one ends the other begins, and the canvas burns with the music that moves between them.
Muse of the Eternal City, oil on canvasBeneath domes and broken columns, a lady of Rome lifts her pen while cherubs carry laurels through the night. History pauses, waiting patiently to be written.
Before the Mirror, graphite on paperAn arm raised, a curl loosened, a glance over the shoulder. Soft graphite catches a private moment: a woman becoming herself before the day begins.
Silver and Gold, watercolour with gold leafLeaves fold like grey silk around a single white flame of a bird of paradise. A seam of gold cuts through the shadow, the way light always finds the crack.
Seed of Becoming, mixed media with metallic pigmentA pod opens like a shell, scaled and shimmering, while spirals rise like breath into warm, dusty air. Something small and certain is about to begin.
A Vase of Morning, coloured pencilYellow roses stretch from a painted porcelain vase, their buds still deciding whether to open. Every stroke of colour is a small ray of sun laid down by hand.
The Keepsake Bouquet, oil on canvasPeonies, carnations and a full-blown rose crowd a little bronze vase, while a pair of spectacles and a blue ribbon rest beside it. Someone has just stepped away; the flowers keep the room warm until they return.
Where the Light Climbs, oil on canvasLate sun spills through a latticed door and runs down old brick steps, warming each pot of geraniums it passes. A courtyard holding its breath before evening.
Fallen Gold, soft pastelYellow roses lie where they were set down, their reflections drifting across a dark, still surface. A love letter left on the table, written in petals instead of words.
Magnolia Dusk, soft pastelIvory magnolias open over a basket of dark fruit, their leaves already turning to copper. The last warmth of summer, gathered up and held.
A Table Set for Spring, oil on canvasGoldfish turn slow circles in their glass world beside a red apple, old lace and a lantern of ruby glass. White roses spill from the basket: a table set for a new year, and for remembering.
Beneath the Old Arches, oil on canvasAutumn burns gold beyond the brick arches while three ducks drift across water the colour of strong tea. The bridge has watched a hundred seasons pass, and still it holds its breath for this one.
The Mill at Evensong, oil on canvasA red-brick mill leans toward the river as the sky turns to rose and lavender. The weir murmurs, the reeds sway, and the whole valley settles into the hush of evening.
An Afternoon in Silver, oil on canvasRoses spill across a silver tray among ripe peaches and grapes, and a slant of afternoon light finds the gilded cups. A feast laid out for no one in particular, and for everyone who stops to look.
The Overturned Basket, oil on canvasA wicker basket tips onto white linen and chrysanthemums tumble out in cream and gold, shaggy as small suns. Clouds gather behind, but here on the table it is still the brightest part of the day.
Petals on the Wind, acrylic on canvasA few loose strokes of ink and a blush of coral drift across a pale, weathered ground. Blossoms half-remembered, carried off by a breeze before they could finish opening.
Where the River Turns, oil on canvasBetween old stone banks the stream bends and quickens, scattering silver over fallen leaves. Two ducks rise toward a far blue hill, and the birches stand in their autumn gold to watch them go.
Bells of May, soft pastelTiny white bells hang from arching stems, each one tipped with a blush of pink. Among the deep green leaves they ring a song too quiet to hear, made only to be seen.
Kettles at the Campfire, oil on canvasTwo old copper kettles keep each other company over the embers, one on its iron stand and one waiting among the stones. The fire crackles, the woods lean close, and tea is almost ready.
Roses and Old Pewter, oil on canvasA wicker horn tips over and roses pour out in amber, coral and dusky pink, tumbling past a pewter jug and a slender goblet. Behind them a curtain of gold glows like late sun through silk, and the fringed shawl catches every fallen petal.
A Basket of Embers, oil on canvasPeach and apricot roses crowd one side of the basket, deep crimson the other, as if the fire inside has not yet decided its colour. One bloom has rolled free, and its glow pools across the polished table among a few drifting petals.

Made in a Vancouver studio

Lyndvix Design began with painting and grew into a studio. Every piece starts by hand, with colour and texture first, and finds its way onto walls, products and brands.

I'm Bahar, the painter behind Lyndvix Design. I have been painting since I was a child, learning beside my mother, a professional artist and painting instructor who was my first and most important mentor. Over the years I have worked in oil, soft pastel and coloured pencil, and in watercolour for some of my abstract pieces. What I love most is catching the beauty of a single moment in a brushstroke, and every commission starts the same way: by listening to what that moment means to you.
